Good morning, everyone! Happy May Day! Wendy here with you to start your week with a new Scraplift Sunday. Today we are lifting one of Melanie's layouts. It's so sweet and you may view it by clicking here. Isn't it lovely?! There are so many things to be inspired by-- the rainbows, the mixed media, the scallops, stamping, the title-- really the possibilities are endless! We just want to see what inspires you to create something and lift it! Take a look at what I came up with.
It's so similar, isn't it? Obviously I was inspired by Melanie's colorful rainbows and used the same Simple Stories Rainbow stencil from the Boho Baby collection. I have had these baby pictures of my brother forever just waiting to do something with them. I feel like I am the memory keeper of the family. I'm not sure if that is a self appointed title, or if it's just understood, or what exactly. But due to their age and the photo quality back then, they are yellow and brown in color. That doesn't mean they should be discarded!!! Keep those photos and those memories and wait until you can figure out how to best feature them!!
The rainbow stencil that Melanie used inspired me to create my own colorful layout that would suit these precious photos perfectly. I picked colors that I would pair well with the Simple Stories Boho Baby collection. I love this collection because lends well to both new and old baby photos. You definitely need this collection if you don't already have it!! I started this layout with cardstock and used Faded Jeans with Stormy Sky on top, Rusty Hinge with Vintage Photo on top, Fossilized Amber, Iced Spruce, Speckled Egg, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, and Tea Dye inks. Instead of paper strips like Melanie used, I used Pretty Little Studio Stitching Stickers from the Grateful Heart collection. They are the perfect color! I also used an Elle's Studio heart stamp stamped with black StazOn ink instead of a scallop. But I did love the scallops so I tucked some scalloped paper strips behind my photo. I fussy cut some icons from the 2x2 & 4x4 Elements paper, used chipboard and cardstock stickers for embellishments and my title. I added some thread and teeny tiny stars and journaling and called it done. Check out a few photos of the details.
