Good morning, friends! I want to first wish all the moms and grandmas and and moms-to-be and pseudo moms and dog moms a Happy Mother's Day. This is Wendy here with you today to share with you this weeks new Scraplift Sunday inspiration. This week we are lifting super fun layout from Kat! You may view that by clicking here. I absolutely LOVE this layout and I hope you do too. There are so many things that you can take inspiration from to create your own layout--- the ripped sections, the monochromatic colors, the stamping and mixed media, the fun title, and all the teeny tiny embellishments. Take a look at my lifted layout.
I really wanted to pull out my Paper Issues The Good Part kit, which, not surprisingly, has sold out. I really love the big bold floral patterned paper and I really wanted that to be seen in my ripped sections of white cardstock. Because this kit leans towards spring, it had me digging through my stash of old photos. I pulled this family photo from Easter Sunday 1992. This particular photo (and its duplicate) was severely damaged. I have no idea if it is just these partiular photos or the whole roll, but trimming it up really saved it!! I backed that photo with 3x4 cards included in the kit and that helps it appear larger than it actually is.
If you aren't familiar with our kits, let me tell you a bit about them. They are so popular and sought after that they are quick to sell out. If you see a kit you like, snag it as fast possible! I love them because they include everything you need to create a layout and usually includes something extra such as alphas, ephemera, inks, or stencils. One of the things I love to do with my Paper Issues kits is pull some embellishments from my stash. I do this in efforts to stretch my kits and make them last longer and in efforts to go through my stash even in the smallest amounts. With that being said, I grabbed word stickers and phrases from Dear Lizzy and Pretty Little Studio as well as stitching stickers in pink, labels and stickers from Elle's Studio, a stamp from Kaisercraft and Tim Holtz distress ink in Tea Dye. I also included butterflies that I fussy cut from a paper in the kit, felt hearts, staples, thread, and Not So Heavy Metal sequins from 28 Lilac Lane. This was so fast and fun to put together! And I'm really happy I had the perfect opportunity to save that special photo!!! Have a look at some up close photos.
Now it's your turn to get creative with this scraplift challenge and I hope you are feeling inspired! I can't wait to see what you come up with! Remember to upload your new creations in the May challenge album of the Paper Issues Friends and Fan Facebook group. For each new project you enter, you will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a Paper Issues gift card! You could be a winner so what are you waiting for?! Also share your projects on Instagram. Tag @paperissues and use #paperissues so we can see your projects and maybe share them, too.
