Life is Better With Scraplift Sundays

Good morning, everyone! Wendy here with you to start your week with a new Scraplift Sunday layout! This week we are lifting one of Jessica's layouts. You can view it here. It's gorgeous and is a perfect pick for the month of February with that big heart! The great thing about Scraplift Sunday, is you can be inspired by anything and pick a different shape if you'd like. But I also stuck with the heart. What is so striking about this particular layout is the focus of the heart and the defined edges with the stamping she did. I basically did what she did in reverse. I put all my focus on the inside of the heart and left everything else (almost) white. So let's talk about the process and all the layers I created.

I started this layout with Vicki Boutin Foundation Paper, a stencil, and molding paste. I love the texture and dimension that gives to the paper. Next I grabbed my pack of Lindy's Flat Magicals in Mountain Meadows and pulled the Wild Rose Rouge and Foxglove Fuchsia. I bought those in the last big Paper Issues sale and have been intimidated to use them. If you're like me and not sure how to use them, check out our YouTube channel for tips and tricks. The mixed media girls KNOW all about this stuff. I allowed that time to dry and stamped on top in white using Elle's Everyday Tabs word stamps and pulled the hearts from the this Big and Bold Build a Rainbow stamp. On top of that, I stamped my Kaisercraft mini dot stamp in Black Soot. I sprinkled teeny tiny red sequins hearts on top then started with the actual nitty gritty things of my layout.

I picked two photos like Jessica did and backed them with the new Doodlebug Lots of Love collection. I used the Happy Mail and Hugs & Kisses papers. I embellished with Valentine Phrase and Alpha stickers, Pretty Little Studio Acetate Stitches from the Grateful collection, the Love You More shape sprinkles, puffy hearts, and new Cherry Blossom Sequins from 28 Lilac Lane. Also, I stole Jessica's title and used it as my own. I'm sure she won't care.
I wish these photos gave justice to all the detail and texture this layout has. I also hope you're feeling inspired and are ready to get creative with this scraplift challenge. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Remember to upload your new creations in the February challenge album album of the Paper Issues Friends and Fan Facebook group.
