:: mix it up monday ::

Hellloooooo!  It's Orange Gearle and I am back with another edition of Mix It Up Monday!  This month, anything goes!  Like watercolors? Use 'em. Like stitching? Use it?  Are you good with texture? Make it happen!  Here's my inspiration layout for this month!

I started with some watercolors and used the packaging technique for the background. I added thread for texture, and both machine stitching and stitching by hand. Most of the cards and wood veneer (color added with gelatos) is from a Swag Bag (or two)! Here are a few close ups.

One of my favorite things about this layout is the stitching that I did on the title -- and then all those bits of thread behind the title!  All. That. Color.

I've been wanting to use one of the Paper Issues cards on a layout and I thought this was a perfect fit. She is playing a watermelon ukulele for goodness sake!  Seems flamingo-like, no?

This flamingo clip came in the Swag Bag, and many of the flowers have some sort of a tropical theme, so I went with it!  Most of the cards and embellishments came from the Swag Bags, but I did add a few things from recent collections that fit the theme.

Rachel Kleinman made a fabulous project to inspire you this month! Check it out!

Wouldn't you love this in your home??
