A New Sketch Makes Everyone Happy

Good morning, everyone! Wendy here with you today to share a layout for the brand new sketch this week. It was created by former PI girl Lindsey and what I really like about this is the large photo and the journaling area off to the right side. I also really like the different strips of paper above the journal area. And really, all the things I love about it, I didn't incorporate. Yep, even the dashed lines for stitching. But have a look at my layout and see what changes I made.
I started this layout using the Jen Hadfield Letterboard 12x12 paper . I chose it because it had a built in boarder that I didn't have to create myself. Instead of doing horizontal strips of paper, I did vertical strips. And as you can see, I didn't include visible journaling. However, it's there as you will see! Since page is about food and includes a recipe I dug out my Echo Park Farmhouse Kitchen and Simple Stories Apron Strings collections. From Echo Park I used Farmhouse Floral and Field of Flowers papers. I also used ephemera and stickers from both collections and puffy alphas and hearts from Elle's Studio.

I recently made donuts. This was my second attempt as my first attempt was a complete failure. I found a different recipe and tried again. This recipe is from Pampered Chef using their donut pan. I shared it with hidden journaling!! Since this isn't a family recipe, I am sharing it. I'll be honest. When it comes to secret family recipes, I don't share. My grandma gave me grief for not sharing her recipes so I know already that it makes me a snob. The recipe is correct (I also added things to make it my own), but looks wonky and comes with spacing errors and is abbreviated. My type writer is old and finicky and when it actually decides to type, I just keep moving along errors and all. Have a look at the recipe and the other up close details.

Now it's your turn to get creative with this challenge and I hope you are feeling inspired to scrap! The new challenges are SO FUN this month. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Remember to upload your new creations in the September Usual Suspects album of the Paper Issues Friends and Fan Facebook group.
