Awesome Team Sports Memories

Good morning, Paper Issues friends! Wendy here with you today to share a layout for the brand new Team Sports challenge. It's part of our monthly Pop Crop challenge and the theme this month is the Olympics! For this scrapbook challenge we want you document all those team sport photos including baseball, softball, basketball and football. If you don’t have those, then create a diamond shaped background. Have a look at my layout.

This layout came together super fast once I figured out which picture I wanted to scrap. Both of my boys sporadically participate in sports. This summer my youngest played baseball and this was the one and only picture I took this year. It was a tough season for multiple reasons, but the friendship he struck up with a teammate this year warmed my heart. His friend was the tallest boy on the team while my son was the second shortest. To see them together always made me smile and made all the bad stuff with this season worthwhile.

For this layout, I started with the free Awesome Memories cut file and the July Swag Bag. I thought the colors were perfect for summertime photo without being too sporty or theme-y. I backed the cut file with picks from there and glued it down on white card stock. For fun I added a little cluster of the same pattern papers in the bottom right corner. From there I backed it on the Fresh Picked 12x12 paper from Fancy Pants and added a hand stitched border for added detail and texture. I added some enamel dots from my stash and wood buttons from the same Fancy Pants Hometown Summer collection. In place of long, detailed journaling, I added stamps from the Elle's Summertime Tabs stamp collection. I stamped that in Jet Black StazOn solvent ink. It's seriously the best black ink out there. I did also add the names and date to a recently released Elle's cut apart label. This is a very fast and simple layout! Check out some up close detailed photos of my layout below.

Now it's your turn to get creative with this challenge and I hope you are feeling inspired to scrap! The new challenges are SO FUN this month. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
