On the Edge

Hi friends! Rachel here today and I've been eagerly awaiting my time to share this layout with you! I played along with Paper Issues On the Edge challenge. As you can imagine from the name, this challenge requires you to stay away from the center of your layout -  just use one or more edges of your paper! Easy enough right?

I started with this lovely patterned paper from Maggie Holme's Flourish collection. I love it so much that I have multiple sheets of it. So I decided to use a second sheet along with the Freshly Picked cut file. Download it for free here! As you can see from the image below, I only used part of the circle and trimmed off the rest. I love how the paint lines from the cut file and the background paper run together.

I purposely didn't secure the edges of the leaves down. I like how the raised edges gave it added dimension. I slipped in small pieces of the beautiful gold decorative trim and a few embellishments along with my photo. A simple typed journal strip and a date was all I needed to finish it off!

Hope you like it and feel inspired to play along with us! Check out all the July challenges here in our Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook group!
