Paper Issues Guest Designer ***Katrina Hunt***

Good morning ladies! We have another fantastic guest designer with us today at Paper Issues and we'd love to introduce Katrina Hunt -- one of our most active Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} members!

Katrina caught our eye with her projects during the Paper Issues Crop and she is an avid Swag Bagger and we think that everybody should check out more of her work on the following:

Hey there!  It's Katrina Hunt from Paper, Scissors and Glue and I am so excited to be guesting on the blog today.  Kelly surprised the heck out of me when she asked if I wanted to play along.  Some of you know my work, but I am a girl that loves layers, colors and doing everyday layouts of random things.  Mostly about the dogs!  Before you ask, they are Cardigan Welsh Corgis and they rule the house.  Jetson, Sheldon, Higgins and Ella are the order they are in on the bench in the layout. Higgins and Ella are pet therapy dogs and we go to visit hospitals and nursing homes.  

Enough about me, let's talk about the project and Swag Bags!  The Swag Bags are perfect for creating 8.5 x 11 inch layouts, along with pocket pages, etc.  I love to switch my style up and do 8.5 by 11 inch pages, just to get the old mojo flowing again.  I also like to do 6 x12 inch layouts as well. So I had the PERFECT kit to create with for my project.  Note, I had to have a pattern paper background which I got from the Paper Issues store, of course!  It's from the Seven Paper/Baxter collection and I added some of those fun mini Doodlebug Design doilies that you can get also! 

Some tips on creating smaller layouts:  

1. Don't be scared to jump in.  I am one that loves NO white space, so it's a challenge when working on a smaller format, but just take it an area at a time.  
2. Start with a grid like I did here.  Easy to work on and once you get the grid set, then you can embellish the individual areas (my favorite part). 
3. Size your pictures a little smaller, it makes it easier to work around and get a feel of working on the smaller canvas.
4. Have fun!  Most important part of all!
