The Joy of Scraplift Sunday

 

Good morning, everyone! Wendy here with you to start your week with a new Scraplift Sunday. Today we are lifting one of Danielle's layouts. She created it live on Facebook in our Paper Issues Friends and Fan group. You can view the layout by clicking here. I think Danielle's layout is amazing and I hope you do too. There are so many things to be inspired by-- the mixed media, the hearts, the small embellishments of sequins, the layers. I hope you see something that gets your creative juices flowing!

 

What I loved about her layout was the center focus- the hearts!! I love how she created an ombre effect with her mixed media. I wanted to create a layout that had the same focal point. I grabbed my The Good Part Kit which, not surprisingly, has sold out. I specifically loved the Happy Days paper and decided to trim that, trace random hearts all over and stitch them in colors slightly darker than the rainbow printed on the paper. I fussy cut some butterflies from one of the papers included, added sequins from my stash, and puffy hearts from Elle's Studio. To make it more like Danielle's layout, I layered a few strips with distressed edges for added texture and layered some papers behind my photo. It was a really fast and simple lift using my scrapbook kit and implementing basic shapes. Take a look at some up close photos.
