Good morning, everyone! Wendy here with you to start your week with a new Scraplift Sunday. Today we are lifting one of Rachel's lovely layouts. You may view it here. It's wonderful, isn't it? But also challenging, right? It's okay! Don't get too hung up if you can't put that many pics on there...use embellishment clusters...use bottlecaps...flowers, something anything. Can't wait to see what you guys do with this.
Let me tell you what I loved about Rachel's layout. I loved the background with the streaks on it, the ten photos she used, and the circles. That is what you will find that is similar between our layouts even though they look different. I wanted to do this layout on a white background, but I struggled with how to get the white streaks to show up on white cardstock. Believe me, I tried! So I went with black instead. Let me also tell you that there is a very distinct blue tinge to my layout, but all the things and areas that are supposed to white, actually are white in real life. That includes the white streak down the middle, the alphas, flair, and paint. I assure it is all white.
I created the streaky background by just dragging my ink pads right across my black cardstock. I used Barn Door, Unicorn, Faded Jeans, and Prize Ribbon. I knew I wanted to scrap 10 photos from the Fourth of July. I printed them as 2x2 photos and trimmed them down even further so they're pretty small photos. I pulled the Hometown Summer collection from Fancy Pants and used the following papers: Fresh Picked, Pursuit of Happiness, and Sunny Days. I didn't have much of the ephemera left, but it is still available in the store! I have a fireworks stencil and used that with a glitter Nuvo in silver. I went over them twice and they got a little messy looking so I highlighted them in white paint to give them a little more definition. I added flair from my stash, wood buttons, sequins, and phrase stickers from Pretty Little Studio. My puffy Bella Blvd Aria alphas are in the colors McIntosh, White, and Blueberry. I included chipboard from Elle's Studio and a rosette from Pebbles that dates back from 2011!
This layout was challenging for me! But I super love the outcome of it!! I hope you give it a try too. Before you go, take a look at some up close photos.
