Maggie Holmes Carousel

Hi friends! Rachel here and I'm so excited to be back on the Paper Issues Design Team. It's such an honor to be here and able to share my love of scrapbooking with you. This summer, Maggie Holmes released her newest line - Carousel. I love everything about it - the colors, patterns and fair like ephemera make it a fun collection to play with.

I started with a piece of white 12x12 cardstock. Then I cut out several 1" strips from some of my favorite patterned papers in the collection. The Dazzle paper is definite must! To make the symmetry work for this layout, I first made sure the triangles in each corner were exactly the same size. Then I used a strip of paper like a ruler to make sure the spacing was even between each 1" strip.

For added dimension, I hand stitched between the strips with gold We R Memory Keepers thread. I love the quality of this thread - it's thick and has a metallic shine to it. There is gold and several other colors in the Paper Issues store. In the center, I added my photo along with ephemera and puffy phrase thickers

Hope you feel inspired! As always, thank you for stopping by. Need some Maggie Holmes in your life? Use my code RACHEL to save 20% off in the Paper Issues store! XOXO
