I completed my album cover back in November, but was late to starting my actual pages. Of course there is no right or wrong time to complete your December album. That being said, I like to complete it as soon as I can because I know I'll have other projects to tackle.
I began my album with a page protector of 2x2 squares and filled them with paper, ephemera, sequins and wood veneer pieces. I love the variety of items that fill the pockets.
I had all my journalling complete on the Notes function of my phone and took some time before scrapping to type them up on my typewriter. I have seen lots of scrappers use this technique but this was the first time I attempted it. I really like the way it looks cut into sloppy strips and it allows me to tell a bit more of a story than if I was to handwrite the journalling on a label as I've done in years past.
Crate Paper's Snow and Cocoa collection has a really nice assortment of embellishments. For this layout for December 7th, I used a large wood veneer piece that came in the wood veneer pack, various pieces of ephemera, stickers from the 6x12 sticker sheet and a gold glitter snowflake from the snowflake sticker pack.
I loved the variety of ephemera pieces in the collection as well. There were tons of cute tags, acetate pieces of animals, phrases and snow globes as well as traditional pieces of ephemera in shapes such as snowflakes, foxes, children, and snowmen.
The papers in Snow and Cocoa also lend themselves well to a December mini album. I have used both the 6x6 paper pad and a few 12x12 papers. Pictured in this layout from December 9th, I have cut down a few of the 12x12 papers to make 3x4 cards. The "Oh Deer" card is from the cut apart sheet which has various sizes of cards, flags and phrases that make great accent pieces for any project. I have also cut out a rectangular piece of a snowman that comes from a 12x12 paper with dozens of different snowmen images.
Thank you for the taking the time to view the progress I've made in my album so far. If you'd like to see more or see how I complete this album, please check out my YouTube channel here. I also have process videos of my album cover and days one through nine available for viewing here on my December Daily 2016 playlist. I plan on having an album share video up in the New Year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Great job!
