It's Stacie here and I am avoiding the change to winter and snow with an autumn page design using Crate Paper Gather. The Gather ephemera leaves completely inspired me and I needed more than two! I will show you how I made a few more to create this wreath of leaves using the Gather collection!
I started off with the Thankful Heart text paper and traced the ephemera leaves onto the paper in different directions.
After tracing and cutting out the leaves, I mixed gelatos to make similar colors to paint sections of each leaf. Once they were dried, I sketched the border lines in black pen.
I tried to keep all of the text upright and readable once I layered them in place on the pretty light aqua Sunshine paper. I added machine stitching several times around the wreath to create extra texture. I love how the leaves are curled up from the gelatos and look like they were just collected!
I finished it all up with the phrase Thickers and the cutest mini puffy gold script alpha! I added splatters of white acrylic paint, gold mist, and leftover gelato colors.
I hope you are inspired to try out some mixed media or to create with these gorgeous products from Gather by Maggie Holmes. I took a class from Maggie last year and she is truly the sweetest and so inspiring with her design ideas! I love how this collection is so versatile as you saw earlier this month from the PI team spotlight!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brilliant idea! two would not be enough for me either!
