Boo! Eek! An October Mini Album

This October marks my second year documenting my family's happenings and events in a project I like to call "October Daily".  I'm sure tons of people are familiar with Ali Edward's December Daily and in recent years several scrappers have adapted the project to incorporate more of a spooky, Halloween theme.

Last year I became overwhelmed documenting and creating a daily album for the month of October and December.  So this year I decided to make my October Daily project a bit more manageable and go with a 4x4 size.

I fell in love with the cute designs from Doodlebug's Boos and Brews collection.  I especially love all the purple!  I was worried that the size of embellishments would pose a problem from my teeny tiny album but they fit perfectly when layered on a 4x4 filler card.

Something else that overwhelmed me last year was product!  When I complete mini albums I like to stick primarily to one collection and add little bits and pieces from my stash.  I went a bit overboard last year and so this year I kept it pretty simple.  My goal was to stick to one 6x6 paper pad, one pack of ephemera and the oh so cute Doodle Pops.  I have added a few items from my stash but I was mindful to keep these things minimal as I didn't want to add a lot of bulk to my album.

I think it's important to remember that when creating a daily album you do not need to include every event from every day.  I've included the highlights of our days.  Some days have multiple photos in various sizes and some days only have one 2x2 photo.  I've been known to create some pretty thick albums.  As this is my first attempt at a 4x4 album I am keeping things pretty minimal.

If you'd like to see more of my process and the continuation of my project, please check out my October Daily 2016 playlist on my YouTube channel.  I'm really enjoying using the fun and cute designs from Doodlebug's Boos and Brews collection - all of which can be found in the Paper Issues store.

Thanks for looking and I hope you'll check in to see more of this project either on YouTube or on Instagram.  Remember to use the code KRISTIE to save 20% in the store.

  1. Great album, really, really cute. I love that size and love the 2x2 square pockets, too, so fun to make. Michelle t
