Take 5 Tuesday Challenge - August!

Hi friends! It's Mary Ann here with the August edition of our Take 5 Tuesday Challenge!! We have another fun inspiration and idea list for you, and can't wait to see what fun projects you all come up with. Remember, you have a chance to win a Gift Certificate to the Paper Issues store, and could have your project featured on the Paper Issues blog!

This month I skipped over all the color suggestions from the list and only used items that would be added to my layout, so my 5 things are: a flower, journaling, a sticker, chipboard and thread. For those of you that don't always have photos or papers/and or embellishments that go with the colors on the inspiration and idea list, this is another option to try for the Take 5 Challenge!

I love using the chipboard frames as embellishments, then layering them with stickers for even more dimension!

And, here's more projects from some of the team to inspire you!  First up is this darling card from Lisa. She used the color turquoise, a sticker, something silver, thread and a diagonal design. That patterned paper is perfect to bring in the diagonal design! And isn't that charm so very cute hanging inside the mason jar!!!

Chelsea's 5 items are the colors green and orange, a bird, doily and washi tape. I love that she used the flamingo card that came with her Paper Issues order! Yes, with each and every order you place at Paper Issues, Cassie includes a cute thank you card. This month was the flamingo card. It's like getting a free embellishment with each PI order ;) Super cute layout, Chelsea!

Next up is this awesome layout from Janet. Don't you just love the orange paint she added to her background paper!  Along with the colors turquoise and orange, Janet used the color green, thread and washi tape.

Isn't this pineapple on Ann's layout the best!! I love how she stitched over the design, then added on more pineapple embellishments. What a perfect way to remember the vacation the took just a few weeks ago. She uses the colors green and orange, a flower, washi tape and thread.

Michelle's layout has such a beautiful tropical feel, I love the look of the florals and palm trees with the wood grain paper. It makes me want to plan a get-away to a far off destination!! ;)  She combined green, orange and turquoise along with flowers and twine on this one.

How about this layout from Becky, she rocked the Summer Day's collection by Elle's Studio!! All the great layers draw your eye right to her photos. Her embellishments and photos are added on the diagonal, and mixed in with the colors green, orange and turquoise, stickers and title.

Rachel used lots of fun pieces from Carta Bella's Great Outdoors collection for her layout. I especially like the mountain paper she used for the background, it's a perfect way to add in the diagonal design from the ideas list!! And look at all those sweet little embellishments! She also used the color green, flowers, washi tape, sticker and silver.

So there you have it, some amazing ideas for the August challenge. If you have never played along with the Take 5 Challenge before, this is your month!! We would love to have you join in on the fun. Here's how it works: I give you a list of items to use as your inspiration and starting point for your project. From that list, pick 5 items to use on your project. You can use more than 5, and combine your own ideas too, but to play along you must use at least 5 items from the list. Also, Take 5 is open to everyone, and is for scrapbookers, card makers, pocket pagers and off the page project makers too! If you are a paper crafter, this challenge is for you!!  You have until midnight EST September 5 to add your project to the August Take 5 Challenge album over in our Paper Issues {friends & fans} Facebook group. You could win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store, and be featured on the PI blog!!
