Hi Everyone, it's Kathy today with the September Off the Page Challenge. We want you to use your scrappy supplies to help embellish, or create something fun for back to school. Decorate folders, book covers, pencils, lunch boxes, lunch notes... etc. Are you a teacher? Use your supplies to create something for the classroom. No kiddos going back to school, no worries.. create something using scrappy supplies that helps you keep organized... notebooks, bulletin boards, bookmarks, labels etc. We'd love to see all of your ideas!!
Around my house we are trying to get organized and gather up all the necessary supplies for my daughter's senior year. She is the secretary of one of her school organizations and she was looking for a way to keep all of the club information organized and separate from her school work, so I created a fun Fauxdori for her to use. A Fauxdori is just a knock-off of a Midori travelers notebook. You can use them for everything from a to do list, or to document your travels. Usually they're made from leather or fabric... but this is Paper Issues so I made one from paper! Take a peek...

I used some Bella Blvd. Color Chaos to create my cover and the insert covers. I laminated the pieces to make them more durable. The insert covers hold some organizational printables including a calendar, to do lists and a notepad. You can find these printables all over Pinterest, and many are free. Everything is held in place with elastic thread.
Danielle played along with me this month and created a fun Fauxdori with a leather cover... she decorated hers with lots of goodies from Paper Issues Swag Bags take a peek...

ReplyDeleteI did have a question... did you use a template to make the folder inserts for the laminated version? They came out perfectly, is there a secret to it?
Amy I used a silhouette file for the folders. I laminated them before I folded the score lines & used my trimmer to cut off the excess. Hope that helps!!
DeleteLooks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI posted my planner pages
