Hi! I am Mary Jo and I am super excited to be joining the Paper Issues design team! I have been scrapbooking since 1998 and have seen it all! So many differents styles and trends have come and gone through the years, but I pretty much stay true to my simple style. :)
I have been married 15 years, and have a ten year old boy and five year old girl.
But before having kids I was a preschool and Kindergarten teacher for eight years. Now I am mostly a SAHM, who is slowly re entering the world of teaching through subbing.
My Five Fun Facts:
1. I am addicted to chocolate and Dr. Pepper. I have given up soda though and am really missing it!
Can't give up chocolate :)
2. I love to read books and am usually reading at least 3 or 4 different books at the same time.
3. I am a HUGE U2 fan. In fact, my husband and I traveled to Ireland in 2009 to see them not once, but two nights in a row at Croke Park stadium. Yes, we are those kind of fans!
4. I love old, old movies. My top three are King Kong (the original), Rear Window by Alfred Hitchcock, and Singing in the Rain. Love Gene Kelly!
5. I am a night owl forced to be a morning person. I could stay up all night, every night but then I would pay for it in the morning! I have to force myself to go to bed most nights at a decent hour.
And here are two layouts using some of Pink Paislee's London Market collection:
I wrote a letter to my daughter reminding her to enjoy being a child and please don't grow up too fast! I of course used U2 lyrics as a quote, plus one of their song titles as my own title.
And a complementing layout talking about how I try to stay "young at heart". :)
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little bit more. I am looking forward to sharing lots more with you in the coming months!

ReplyDeleteI loveeeeeeeee Mary Jo!! She is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layouts, Mary Jo! Looks like we're polar opposites on the soda (don't drink it, don't like it) and night owl thing (I'm a morning person, LOL). :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to be on this team with you Mary Jo! Loved reading the fun facts about you. I LOVE Ireland, but am not such a big fan of U2 as you, although I had to listen to them all the time when I was young. And the fact about reading I so recognize! :)
ReplyDeleteI love old movies! Singin' In The Rain is one of my faves! Sergeant York is my all time favorite...Seven Brides for Seven Brothers...Oy...I could list all day! I don't know how you live without soda. I like you...even though you are from the other side of the state. We will have to get together some time. We visit there a lot!!!! So glad that you are a part of the PI team!
ReplyDeleteI love old movies too Mary Jo! Singin' in the Rain is an absolute favourite of mine but I love Donald O'Connor!! So happy to be designing with you, your layouts are beautiful!!
