Hello! Today is all about Activities and Sports! Check out this round up by the design team on all of their favorites from attending sporting events or participating in their favorite hobby or activity! We hope this inspires you to get cutting!
First up is Wendy who is taking us boating and giving us all the peaceful lake vibes! She is using the Water Words cut file paired with the June Swag Bag and big June kit. For her mixed media, Wendy used VBoutin molding paste with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers distress spray with a stencil. Wendy shared, "I’ve been saving this photo of my paternal grandpa fishing for a long time. I really wanted to wait for the right opportunity to come along to scrap it. I remember my grandpa as a “fixer” and always tinkering with motors. So, to find this photo of him enjoying some fishing in his younger days is a special sight to see." Always so much to love and be inspired by when Wendy gets an older photo documented!
Next up is Melanie with the Baseball Bold cut file. It is so fun to see the heart bats as an open layer showing us that not all cut files need to be backed with papers. Melanie used the July PI Kit and cut into her Fancy Pants Hometown Summer papers and embellishments. For mixed media details, Melanie used Vicki Boutin Let’s Wander star stencil, Tim Holtz Distress oxides, texture paste, Elle’s Studio stamps and labels for the last touches! The added stitching brings beautiful texture to design corners and to the cut file title from the Baseball Bold cut file set. This layout is definitely starring All American baseball vibes and summer!
Moving onto Cassie W. and she's all about the scrapping fun for her fave activity! Cassie said, "I used the Scrap Happy cut file and paired it with Cute & Crafty collection from Doodlebug and woodgrain paper from Heidi Swapp." The stacked banners and the mega cut file title backed with the Doodlebug patterned papers are such pretty pops of color against the woodgrain background. Such a fun idea to document your scrap space!
Stacie here to wrap up the Design Team Sports and Activities post! I used a Vicki Boutin mixed media background Foundations page and layered her star stencil with molding paste. The Baseball Bold cut file was used for my titles and patterned paper from the July kit. The XOXO Play Ball! cut file was the perfect layer to build up my photo. I altered it by welding on an additional baseball to make the design stretch horizontally across the middle of the page. The wooden bat texture that is going on in the entire background of the photo needed to be amplified, so I layered the bats with a woodgrain paper and added the wooden embellishments from the July PI Scrapbook Kit, which featured Fancy Pants Hometown Summer.
