Good morning, friends! Wendy here today. I'm wanting to know, have you ever started a page with a certain idea in mind and then a disaster struck?! Well, that's exactly what happened with my layout I want to share with you today. I had a particular design in mind and I wanted to scrap lift Mary-Ann. I pulled out my December Days collection by Pinkfresh Studio and knew I wanted the star paper to be main background. I cut my paper, finished my stitching, and was all set to start layering and adding embellishments. Then it happened--- my disaster! I had an explosion of Nuvo.
I was mortified and in a panic. This was not good. I mean seriously! The area covered in sparkles was at least a three inch square. So I set to scrapping it off and got a lot of encouragement from all the PI gals! But even after I scrapped it off, I couldn't salvage my page. I was ready to trash it and start again. Well, I didn't trash it; I set it aside for a while. By a while, I mean at least three weeks. I knew my idea was still good, I just had to reconfigure how I wanted my background to look. I also had to dig out additional Pinkfresh collections, including last year's Christmas papers. Here is my completed page with a new background.
As it turns out, I love this page! I probably love it more knowing it didn't turn out how I envisioned it. Don't let an idea or a challenge or a creative block get the best of you. Step away from it. Take time and set your project aside. Don't let paper best you. Challenge yourself to push through and come back. Change your vision, change your ideas. Love and embrace the outcome.
