The Lucky Ones - Cat Martin

Alright all my awesome scrappy friends, it's Cat here, and I am sharing my last layout and blog post for Paper Issues.  I have had an amazing time getting to share my layouts and share inspiration with all of you!  This has been a wonderful journey of creativity and self-discovery and I definitely feel like a lucky one to get to do something I love and create for all of you!

Well, without further ado here is my last layout!  I used the Rings of Life Family Tree cut file that is available for free in the Paper Issues store!  There are so many possibilities for that tree cut file!  I decided to cut it out of a minty piece of older Maggie Holmes paper.  I backed it with the light pink bird paper from the Gather collection from Maggie Holmes.  One of the things I like about her products is that she takes into account her older lines when creating new ones, and you can definitely mix and match, and if you all know anything about me you know how much I like to mix and match!

My background paper is a really old paper from My Minds Eye I had kicking around.  The great thing is that a good woodgrain really never goes out of style.  I know that will Autumn around the corner there are quite a few collections available in the shop right now that have some woodgrain items!

For the embellishing I reached for some more Maggie Holmes Gather products, and I mixed those with some Open Book stickers as well as cork hearts from Pink Paislee and chipboard hearts from Pinkfresh Studio.  The love embellishment is an older Crate Paper product that should still be available in the shop now if you look under Crate Paper!  The lovely glitter foam words came from the new 1 Canoe 2 collection Creekside!  They are almost like a champagne gold and I love the mix of fonts!  I finished it off with some Heidi Swapp color shine in gold.  This layout screams Autumn to me, and I didn't even use any products or embellishments that are specifically fall!

I hope you enjoy my early take on an Autumn layout.  I figured I had better get one in on this blog before I hit the old dusty trail!  Don't forget to check out my process video too to see how it all came together.

Thank you all so much for following along with me over the past few months.  Thank you so much to Paper Issues for having me!  I look forward to continuing my Scrappy Adventures and I know I will be a PI girl for life!  Love this store and everyone who works so hard to keep it running and to all the DT members I have gotten a chance to know!  Have an awesome day and I'll see you all over on PIFF!
