Adaline's First Year - Completed Mini Album Share

Hello!  Kristie here today sharing my completed mini album documenting my daughter's first year.  Firstly, I can't believe that she is already ONE!  Secondly, it doesn't seem that long ago that I was sharing the beginnings of this album with all you lovely Paper Issues fans, but it was nearly a year ago that I joined the Paper Issues team and shared this as my first blog post.  So this is bittersweet for a couple of reasons!

Crate Paper's Little You collection is one of the most gorgeous collections I've even seen and had the pleasure of creating with.  Crate Paper can do no wrong in my books and you should definitely hop on over to the store to see what recent collections they have released.

This album was a true labour of love!  My goal was to include as many photos as possible while highlighting key moments and milestones.  I didn't want it to be too CHUNKY but I didn't want to skimp out either.

It took me ages to narrow down the nearly 3,000 photos of Adaline taken in her first year.  Aren't we crazy spoiled to have the ability to take so many photographs!?  I tried to limit each month to a few double page layouts, but some months (like December) required quite a few more.  

I went for a mix of candid shots and posed photos.  I really wanted to capture our everyday lives while including those special keepsake photos as well.  The muted colours of the collection paired well with all of my photos and I never felt like the papers and embellishments were competing for attention.  

I loved creating my own filler and journalling cards using the patterned papers, ephemera, stickers, chipboard, enamel dots and alphas in the collection.  It was super fun mixing and matching these products to create new and interesting cards for each layout.  

Another important thing that I wanted this album to have was spots for journalling!  Not a ton of journalling, but enough to capture my daughter's personality for each month.  The subtle patterns in this collection were perfect for journalling directly on top of.
