Summer Love Layout

Good morning fellow paper addicts! This is Rachel Kleinman on the blog today to share a bit of summer with y'all in my bright happy layout!

Now I didn't get TOO messy with this layout, but I did do a little bit of altering. So I'll share a couple steps below. I started with the gorgeous paper BANANAS from Dear Lizzy 'Happy Place', but once I started adding embellishments I realized the paper was way too bright for what I had in mind...

Beautiful piece of paper but ya.. a little on the bright side. So I gave the entire sheet a thin coat of white paint. Once the paint dried the colors still show through, but they are definitely more toned down.

Next I used a stencil to add some pattern down the middle with lime green paint. I added the stenciling in the same areas where I want the focus of the layout to be.

Once all the paint was dry I added my layers! Almost everything on this page is from Dear Lizzy "Happy Place" collection. I love it!

The photo of my mom and dad was taken about a year ago. I was visiting Phoenix and we all went out to dinner together. This is one of my favorite pictures of my mom since her stroke 6 years ago :) I really love this picture and love the people in it!
