:: sewing with dad ::

Hi there!  It's Orange Gearle here with a layout that I created using Dear Lizzy's Serendipity collection and the January Sketch by Jen Chapin.  I love the aqua, navy and pinks in this collection! If you limit the pink and add a bit of the yellow included in the collection you can get a more masculine feel to your layout, too. I love the versatility of this collection!

I also used the free cut file from the shop that is based on Jen's sketch -- which made this come together quickly.

For a bit of interest I added pop dots behind the main photo and the speech bubble. I also stitched around many of the circles and all the way around the outside of the layout.

For the journaling, I typed my story onto some vellum -- which helps tone down the patterned paper behind it so that the journaling is more readable.

I had a great time playing with this collection and sketch. I have linked this up to the January sketch challenge. Link your creations up and you can win a gift card to the Paper Issues store where you can purchase Dear Lizzy's Serendipity collection -- or many, many more things! Don't forget to use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% your entire order!
