Product Spotlight *Second City*

Have you seen the new Kelly Purkey Second City collection yet?  I'll admit this is a collection that intrigued me with it's bright, bold "in your face" patterns.  As much as I loved the concept of the designs I was afraid that I wouldn't know quite how to use it, and refrained from purchasing it.  That's where my Paper Issues design team friends come in.  I just knew based on their style that these two girls would be able to showcase the new BasicGrey release a million times better than I.

Jennifer Chapin works magic with bold patterns.  She knocked this pocket page style layout out of the park, with all the coordinating elements, and pops of colour.
To me, Vegas and Second City go together like peanut butter and jelly.  Bold, bright, and exciting they've both got it.
How perfect are those chipboard alphabet stickers.  And I especially love the way Jen used up some of the "empty" space in the photo to showcase her title.
Wood veneer is so big these days, that it's always exciting when a new collection includes these fun elements as part of their release.  Even better, is the fact that these pieces are self-adhesive.

Leah l'Orange went a different direction with the collection, and created a 12x12 layout, and a couple of cards.  Her penchant for layering various patterns served her well with this collection also.  Check out this fab layout.
Her choice of the Limba White Woodgrain cardstock, with the soft white bubble bath photo work perfect with the bold, brights of the Second City collection.

Despite all the movement of the patterns, this beautiful combination of A and B side papers give the layout a grounded feel.

Leah's choice of the 6x6 Paper Pad was perfect for both her layout, and her love of card making.  The smaller patterns of the 6x6 pads are just perfect for smaller based projects.

The pop of orange off the muted greys works so nicely together.

Both girls did a fabulous job showcasing just how versatile this collection is.  You can go as busy as you like, or tone it down and stick to the B sides of the pages adding as much or as little pop as you'd like incorporating the A sides, and other coordinating elements from the collection.  Thanks Leah & Jen for doing such a fabulous job.

You can get your hands on the BasicGrey Second City collection right here in the shop.  And don't forget to pop back here in just a few hours to see what our brand new Issue is, and who our gracious new sponsor will be.  I promise, you won't be disappointed.
