Good morning, friends! Wendy here with you to start your week with a new Scraplift Sunday layout! This week we are lifting one of Rachel's layouts and you can see it here. What I love most about her original layout is how colorful it is and there are SO. MANY. LAYERS. to it. It's very lovely and inspiring. I hope you checked out her layout to see all the things YOU can be inspired by! Let me show you what I came up with.
Let me tell you, this layout was hard for me and the struggle was real! I love a circular design and a pie chart. But this time, I couldn't think of anything to journal about or graph out like usual so I went with lots of layers like Rachel did. I pulled out my January Hazy Shade of Winter kit and while I did use some things from it, I quickly abandoned it. It was too pink for my blue tinged photos. However, like I said, I did use a few pieces of it and went to my stash to see what would pair with it. I mainly pulled scraps of Carta Bella Cabin Fever that is several years old now. (Anyone else feeling like they've lost all sense of time and years??)I loved that Rachel used a patterned paper background so I wanted to do that too! The snowflakes on wood grain paper is my favorite and there was no way I was cutting it up. Instead I cut my other scraps to layer on top of it. I still wanted to see peeks of it behind all the pie pieces so I was particular about where to place my layers. I layered ephemera behind and around my photos, added a sprinkle of Blizzard Snowflake and Not So Heavy Metal sequins, and Pretty Little Studio stitching stickers in black. I added a few dots of Nuvo that was included in the kit and called it done. It went really fast once I figured out what I was doing. Have a look at a few up close photos.
Now it's your turn to get creative with this scraplift challenge and I hope you are feeling inspired! I can't wait to see what you come up with! Remember to upload your new creations in the February challenge album album of the Paper Issues Friends and Fan Facebook group.
