You Make Me Smile

Hello! Stacie here with a Sunday recap of Notable Quotable for April.
I was inspired by the mason jar full of flowers and thinking on the bright side led me
to the word smile.  This is all about celebrating friendship and big birthdays!

Here's the April Notable Quotable inspiration:
I gathered lots of inspiration from the flowers and mason jar. The PI free cut file was the focus of my design and I built the photo layered above it in place of the quote.

I backed all of the flowers in papers from Amy Tangerine's new Sunshine and Good Times. The bright colors were perfect to pop against the dark background. I added light green watercolor to the stems of the flowers for a subtle look under the vellum.

I added the rich wood grain paper from Webster's Pages and started layering the vellum & tin foil on the mason jar/lid. It needed dimension, so I popped up the photo/flowers with foam squares for added height.  It was fun to use silver for the metallic color as a change from all the things gold!

I love the texture that messy threads give a design, and since I didn't add sewing or twine to the jar, the colorful thread added movement against the wood grain. Anyone else splatter watered down white acrylic paint?  It is my fave against dark colors!

I sure hope you have enjoyed playing along this weekend at Paper Issues in the Facebook group.
