This challenge gave me the kick to scrapbook photos of my mom, who passed away almost three years ago. It was hard to scrap this fist layout and the tears fell down my cheeks. But while scrapbooking, I had a moment filled with memories and I feel that I have to make more layouts with photos of her, to tell her story and to keep her memory alive.

Shortly after this first layout, I scrapped a photo from her funeral, and I add it as an extra layout. Please, just don't scrapbook happy memories, scrapbook the sad ones too, and the hard times. Life isn't all about joy and happiness.

I have used mostly Crate Paper Here & There and a little piece of Flourish. The enamel hearts comes from Pinkfresh Studio as the leatherette leaf.

The embroidery thread comes from my mom's stash that I now have.

My mom loved the song "the Sound of Silence" and that title was perfect to use. The flowers comes from the Mason Jar Fresh Picked Flowers Free Cut File.
