Tell Me a Story

Good morning PI friends!

Olivia here - I am happy to be back sharing a project with you. One of the things I love most about scrapbooking is telling the story. Adding a bit of journaling is the final touch to each project. Tell Me a Story is just the push to get those words flowing.



I had so many ideas swirling it was hard to glue one down, but I chose to go with one of my fav ways to get a lot of photos & words on a page without being visually overwhelming. I created a flip book right on the layout.

It's really quite simple to make. I choose several patterned papers from Paige Evans Turn the Page collection and began trimming them just bigger than my photos, making each layer just smaller than the last. I scored a half inch flap on each piece and glued the flap down. It was easiest to glue the flaps together and then adhere the book to the layout. 

  I intended to put the smallest photos on the smaller pages, and biggest photos on the bigger pages but after some shuffling I mixed the two sizes. 

Each photo is matted on white cardstock. I typed up most of my journaling and adhered it to a page. There's also a small, handwritten journaling tag on the back of the page.  

Now the fun part! I chose to keep the embellishments to a minimal so the story could shine. A few floral bunches, scripty word stickers, and drops of pink, blue, and yellow mists were all I needed. I love the idea of having a little storybook right on a layout. There's lots of room for photos and words, or few embellished clusters. This is also a great way to collect artwork snippets without overwhelming an album.
