Progressively Better with McJen

Hello PI friends! It's McJen today sharing my first project as a member of the Paper Issues Design Team.

If you haven't checked out one of the live videos on Facebook with Kelly and Becky, you are missing out on some serious fun! Last Friday both ladies hosted the Progressively Better Challenge, where they created a recipe for a layout with help from viewers and completed the project live.

I played along and came up with the following project using the Amy Tangerine Hustle & Heart and On A Whim collections (available here).

I love this challenge because it forced me to work quickly rather than spend my usual three hours on a layout. I began with a piece of card stock, 6" x 7" patterned paper, and one photo per the recipe.

As ingredients were added to the recipe during the live video, the layout began to take shape.

With everything adhered, I doodled the flowers on the turquoise paper, added embellishments and title, and used twine on the left edge of the layout.

Last, I completed the project by adding enamel dots using Nuvo Crystal Drops. If you look closely, you will notice that I accidently smeared the dots when they were still wet. There was no way to cover it up, so in the end I just rolled with it. However, I did place my PI footer over the smears for my main project photo.

Everything used on this layout is available in the Paper Issues store. Please remember to use code McJen at checkout to receive 20 percent off of your entire order!

Scroll down for a complete list of the Progressively Better Challenge recipe and link to a replay of the live video. Be sure to enter your new project in the challenge by March 4 for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store.
